Don Bosco Institute Kokar was initiated during the early 80s during which the work was monitored from Don Bosco Hatia; however, it was officially established in 1987. The founding father was Rev. Fr. Guido Colossi, SDB, a great missionary from Cassarsa, Italy. The technical school, the Salesian residence cum hostel for ITI boys, the parish residence, and the parish church were constructed simultaneously. The parish church was blessed by his Grace Telesphor P. Toppo DD, then Archbishop of Ranchi and now a retired cardinal, in 1988 the death centenary year of our father and founder St. John Bosco. During the same period another crucial step was taken by starting a village Hindi medium school 2 km eastward from the base, for the marginalized, the school is known as Don Bosco School Gurgaon. It is very much of a charitable work for the villagers who cannot afford to pay fees and educate their children in the city schools of Ranchi. Now it has reached class X. Another English medium school was started in 1998, a dream work of Fr. Guido, initiated by Rev. Fr. UP. Sebastian SDB, the parish priest of the time.

संत मोनिका पर्व (27/08/2023)

संत मोनिका पर्व के दिन सभी मातायें अपनी निर्धारित समय अनुसार सुबह 8:30 बजे के लिए चर्च में जमा होने लगी। उ‌द्घ़ोषिका श्रीमती शालिनी द्वारा किया गया। पवित्र मिस्सा के मुख्य अनुष्ठाता फा. आनंद सुरीन (पल्ली पुरोहित) थे।
प्रवेश नाच खोरहाटोली की माताओं द्वारा किया गया। फिर हाथ धोवन की विधि तथा ततपश्चात दीप प्रज्वलन की विधि हुई। संत मोनिका की तस्वीर पर माल्यापर्ण हुआ। मिस्सा गाना पाहन टोली की माताओं के द्वारा किया गया । बाइबल जुलूस न्यू जेवियर नगर द्वारा बहुत ही सुंदर ढंग से किया गया | पहला पाठ श्रीमती ग्रेस किसपोट्टा एवं दूसरा श्रीमती सोनी मिंज द्वारा पढ़ा गया। उपदेश में संत मोनिका की जीवनी पर प्रकाश डाला गया। फिर समाप्ति के बाद मेहमानों को चाय बिस्किट दिया गया। फिर खोरहाटोली की माताओं के द्वारा ‘परिघा कर स्कूल मैदान तक लाया गया। आगे पढ़ें…

Youth Meet 2023

2nd July 2023, A Youth Meet and Welcome Programme for all the new Youth Members was organized on the 2nd of July, 2023 in Don Bosco Parish, Kokar. The programme took place in the Parish Hall at around 12:00 PM. The chief guests for the program were our new Parish Priests – Fr. Anand Surin, Fr. Abhay, Fr. Puneet, Fr. Sujeet, Fr. Kuldip, Fr. Babu Vargai, Br. Atul, Br. Bimal, Sr. Kiran, and Sr. Rajni.

Our chief Guests, Fathers, Brothers and Sisters were welcomed by a welcome song sung by the Youth Members. The Youth members also put a batch on their Clothing as well as Honoured them with a traditional shawl. At the beginning of the programme the lighting of the candle took place.
